Hello. I am a university professor who is conducting research on WEIGHT LOSS BLOGGERS AND THE ROLE BLOGGING HAS PLAYED IN THE BLOGGER’S WEIGHT LOSS.

As you may be aware, a lot of research has been done over the years on weight loss but very little has been done on blogging and weight loss. I hope you will help me remedy this.

I have chosen you as a potential research participant because you have a weight loss blog, have a weight loss goal of 100 pounds or more, and have been blogging for at least three months.

If you choose to participate in this study, you will be asked to complete a survey that I will email you. Your answers will be completely confidential and I will use a pseudonym of your choice in the final study.

I have an information sheet about the study I would be happy to share with you. Please email me at aldridga@nsuok.edu if you would like to take a look at it.

Thank you for your time and best of luck to you on your weight loss journey.

Sincerely,
Amy Aldridge Sanford, PhD

Greetings,

First, let me say that I applaud your efforts to improve your health through diet and exercise. That's very admirable, especially when it comes to breaking food cravings, as well as old habits and patterns of behavior.

I must admit, however, that as I was reading your past posts, I was cringing at your menu selection. I just wanted to say that food does not have to be bland, restrictive or unenjoyable and you can still lose weight and feel healthier than ever. I am NOT promoting a company or product, just my own lifestyle. I honestly don't even remember how I came to your blog, just that I couldn't stop reading it!

I'm a practicing raw foodist pescatarian (meaning I eat at least 90 percent raw foods and only fish meat), and I think that you might really enjoy reading about the raw food life style.

Keep in mind, I'm only suggesting this out of honest concern and with the intention of being helpful, and I don't wish to come here and "tell you how it is". I simply thought it sounded like you really weren't enjoying what you were eating, and you might want to give something more pleasurable and healthy a try.

If you'd like some resources, I'd be happy to link you or tell you more. I only offer it in the interest of communication and idea sharing, and feel free to ignore me. :)

Regardless of your response, good luck and I wish you the best.
